How to Accept a Manager Linking Request in Google Ads

Find a pending manager request, verify who is requesting access, and accept or decline it from your Google Ads account.

A Google Ads manager account lets an agency or another manager work with an existing advertising account. Before accepting a request, confirm the manager’s identity and the scope of work through your established contact.

Find the request in your account

An account administrator can review pending requests directly in Google Ads:

  1. Sign in to the Google Ads account that received the request.
  2. Open Admin, then Access and security.
  3. Select Managers and find the pending link request.
  4. Check the requesting manager and choose Accept or Decline. Complete any confirmation shown.

Google also supports acceptance through its invitation email. If the email is unexpected, open Google Ads directly and review the request there. See Google’s manager-account linking instructions (opens in a new tab) for the current steps and access requirements.

If the request is missing

Confirm that you are signed in to the intended advertising account with administrative access. Ask the manager to verify the customer ID used for the invitation. Avoid creating another advertising account to work around a request sent to the wrong one.

Agree on the working arrangements

Confirm who approves campaign changes, manages billing, receives reports, and handles access when the engagement ends. Periodically review the managers and users connected to the account. A linking request should be part of a clear working agreement.
