Restoring a $50,000-per-month advertiser after a UBP suspension

A historical RID engagement reviewing a lead generation business’s website, YouTube creative, provider disclosures, and Unacceptable Business Practices appeal.

Read this case in context.

This is RID Marketing’s account of a historical engagement. The work, results, and timing describe that client’s situation. For an issue you are facing now, start with the current Google Ads guidance below.

The business and the interruption

This engagement involved a lead generation business spending roughly $50,000 per month on Google Ads, primarily on YouTube. Its model involved capturing opt-in leads, qualifying them, and selling them to buyers through its website. RID’s original account describes a suspension for Unacceptable Business Practices and concerns about implied public-figure association.

The public case record does not establish Google’s internal detection signals or a legal assessment of the business model. The work described below focused on the business information and creative that RID could examine and correct.

What RID reviewed

RID reviewed the way the website explained the advertiser, lead capture, data use, and the businesses receiving the leads. The objective was to make the provider relationships and customer journey understandable across the pages involved.

  • Homepage and landing-page descriptions of the business.
  • Lead capture explanations and relevant disclosures.
  • Advertiser identity and buyer-facing information.
  • YouTube creative, including voiceover, on-screen names, and visual context.

Clarifying the offer and the creative

The published engagement describes revisions to advertiser identity language and disclosures, along with removal of creative elements that could imply an unsupported endorsement. The review considered the impression created by the complete advertisement and landing page together.

These were RID’s assessment and remediation decisions. They should not be read as confirmation that a particular image, phrase, or video feature was the undisclosed cause of Google’s decision.

The appeal record

RID prepared an explanation of the lead generation model, the business relationships, and the changes completed. The appeal addressed the named policy, clarified that no public-figure affiliation was being claimed, and requested review of the supporting information.

The case illustrates why an appeal should describe the actual business and the work completed. It does not establish that one narrative format or escalation route produces the same outcome for every advertiser.

The reported outcome

RID’s published account reports that the suspension was removed, YouTube advertising was restored, and spend was increased back toward the previous level. The $50,000 figure describes the advertiser’s historical monthly spend, not a result a new client should expect.

The original case does not publish the full review record or independently verified enforcement findings. The reliable distinction is between the work RID reports completing and the reinstatement outcome it reports observing.

What another business can learn

Describe who advertises, who receives the inquiry, and who supplies the service. Review the whole creative impression and support any affiliation or endorsement claim. Preserve the change record and use the current official policy when assessing a new notice.

This case describes a specific historical engagement. Platform decisions and individual business results vary.
